September 2022 newsletter from St Petroc's Early Years! Dear Parents & Carers, It's been a busy start to the new term so far, although the start of term took an unexpected turn with the sad passing of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Thank you all for your understanding with the addition of the extra bank holiday, I hope that you were able to enjoy some family time on this poignant day in history. The children have enjoyed lots of activities so far, but particularly our trip down to the canal to feed the ducks. We stopped at Bude Light for a snack, then the library for a story, and then enjoyed an exciting bus journey back! We hope to be able to enjoy more days like this in the coming weeks and months, especially as due to our enviable location we have so many opportunities on our doorstep. Kind Regards, Tahira White Early Years Manager Designated Safeguarding Lead Early Years fees and fundingAs you know, we have agreed to hold fees at the current level and review them at Christmas. In the meantime, it's worth checking the latest guidance on Early Years funding to make sure that you are not paying more than you need to. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to access some help towards childcare costs before your child turns three. We've added an FAQ section to our website, which contains links to the latest information, but as always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us on 01288 389832 or tahira.white@stpetrocs.com. Have your say!As per the letter sent to parents at the beginning of the month, from Dr Julie Smith, Chair of the St Petroc's Early Years Board, parental engagement is very important to us. We welcome your views on what we do and will be asking for your feedback more often so that we can provide the very best learning opportunities for all our children. If you have any feedback, suggestions or comments that you feel you would like to share with us, please contact Tahira White, Early Year’s Manager: tahira.white@stpetrocs.com or 01288 389832 in the first instance.
