Event Highlights

Law Day Highlights

On May 1 Cal LAW hosted our annual Law Day event. The virtual event, Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration, was attended by educators and students from high schools, community colleges, four-year institutions and law schools across the state. The event keynote speaker, Professor Clark Kelso of McGeorge School of Law, spoke on the challenges that face our nation and the cornerstone of democracy as we know it. Attendees enjoyed a rich conversation examining how, as leaders and legal professionals, we can work together to overcome division, resolve disputes, and recognize our own biases.

Thank you to our keynote speaker, Professor Clark Kelso, and all of the students and educators who attended the event and contributed to the valuable and thought-provoking conversation. Together, we will build for a better, more equitable tomorrow.

Cal LAW Mixers and Regional Assemblies Highlights

Cal LAW Executive Director Pamela Enslen and Associate Directors Mario Rodriguez and Amy Crabb had the privilege to meet so many of you at our virtual California LAW partners Spring mixer for our high school, community college, undergraduate, and law schools to network and meet one another on April 17 and April 25. Thank you for the rich conversations, sharing best practices, and ideas. Our California LAW team then went on the road and was able to host three regional assemblies in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and South Bay regions to share a meal, discuss how to improve the pipeline, and diversify our efforts. We want to thank all those high school, community college, undergraduate, and law schools who attended.
