Coming up in early December we have two career panels planned, where we will be joined by PhD graduates who are now in careers spanning from entrepreneurial, private sector research, government and academia. These panels are a great chance to hear about the diversity of opportunities available to you as a research degree graduate. Also coming up in the next few weeks are two new workshops focused on academic writing. The first of these will be of most interest to students in health, medical and biological sciences (but all students are welcome), and the second is aimed at students early in candidature who want to get a head-start on their writing skills. We’ve heard from students and supervisors that more writing support would be beneficial, so we’re excited to partner with the Writing Centre to offer these new workshops. This is our last full newsletter for the year, so I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank those that have engaged with CaRST activities this year, and provided valuable feedback as well as suggestions on what you’d like to see in future CaRST workshops. We’ve used this feedback to improve workshops we’re already running, offer new activities, and remove those which weren’t meeting expectations. If you are keen to boost your CaRST credits over the holiday period, don’t forget we have a range of online training opportunities, which you can complete at your own pace. If you are able to, this time of year is also a great time to take a break, relax and recharge, ready to make great research progress in 2023! Best wishes, Katy Dolman Training & Development EventsBefore registering for CaRST events, please review our no-show policy.
