Message from the General Manager

Tēnā koe – hello.

With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to thank you for your valuable contribution during 2021. I hope you have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

We are currently reviewing the approach to holding citizenship ceremonies under the COVID-19 Protection Framework (the Traffic Light system). We will be considering how to best manage the safety of Council staff, new citizens and other attendees, given the new requirements.

We will have an update for you early in 2022, but until then no ceremonies will be held. Citizenship certificates will continue to be posted to new citizens.
