Sign Up for the Whoopie Pie Eating Contest!
For the first time, we are hosting TWO Whoopie Pie Eating Contests!
One contest is for kids ages 6-11. They must eat five mini whoopie pies in five minutes or less! Prizes will be awarded to all kids. The cost is $5 to participate and there are ONLY 10 seats! A guardian must be present at the festival to sign a waiver.
The Team Contest is for groups of 1-3 people who think they can finish ten full-sized whoopie pies the fastest! We have space for five teams. The cost is $25 per team, any team members under 18 years old will need a guardian present to sign a waiver.

Can you help us make sure the Fourth Annual Whoopie Pie Festival is a success?
We have 32 open volunteer opportunities! Shifts are as short as one hour and as long as two hours. You can volunteer for more than one shift!
Examples of some open positions include helping at the vendor check in tent, serve whoopie pies to the judges during the contest, help with the whoopie pie eating contest, wear the whoopie pie costume, help take down tables, chairs, and banners, and help roll up the green street at the end of the day.
Lace Up Your Sneakers for the Whoopie Pie Mile
Rutland's sweetest new tradition is hitting the streets this fall. The first-ever Whoopie Pie Mile Fun Run & Dash will take place on Saturday, September 13 at 11 a.m.
This one-of-a-kind event invites participants to run, walk, skip, or stroll a one-mile route with a very special incentive: a whoopie pie awaits at the halfway point. It's untimed, full of cheer, and comes with bragging rights for anyone who crosses the finish line - especially the first three who'll earn some extra applause and prizes.
All proceeds support local outdoor programs through Come Alive Outside and Rutland Recreation and Parks, helping to bring more movement, fun, and connection to our community year-round. This race is sponsored by Green Mountain Power.
What's better than a fun run? A fun run with frosting.
