IDCRC Newsletter: November 2021

IDCRC Profile: Maya Dunstan, MS
Clinical Affairs Manager, Vaccine Clinical Trials Program, Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute

"The goal of this network is to have an existing method of rapid response to newly emerging infectious diseases. Because of this, we were able to move quickly once the possibility of a coming pandemic was identified. Vaccine and treatment clinical trials were launched in record time, providing prevention and treatment measures that in non-emergent situations would have taken many years." - Maya Dunstan, MS

IDCRC Admin Team Transition

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the resignation of Kayla Smith, effective November 10, 2021. Kayla is relocating to be closer to family and will join Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist as Program Manager III, Health Care Education. Since Kayla joined the IDCRC Leadership Group in 2020, she has been a valuable and well-respected member of our team. She has worked across the IDCRC Leadership Group – from managing the Clinical Operations Unit’s operations and helping launch the very successful IDCRC Mentoring and Career Development KFC, including the Pilot Grants Program, to providing key communications support.

As an employee of Emory University, she is greatly valued and respected by her co-workers. The work and contributions that she has made, including extended hours of dedication, are greatly appreciated. We will miss Kayla. We wish her joy and success in all her future endeavors.
