![]() ![]() ![]() Our Diploma Programme students have put the boxes together ready for your Food and Toy Drive donations! ![]() Dear Brookes Westshore Families and Friends, School Safety As you may have heard, there was an incident in front of the school this week where a staff member was knocked over by a parent’s vehicle. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt, but to mitigate the chance of further incidents, and for the safety of our students, we ask that parents dropping off their children in the morning follow these guidelines as far as possible:
We hope that this protocol will reduce the congestion on the corner of Colwood Crescent and make the morning drop-off as smooth as possible for everyone. We are working on signage for the parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation – we know that student safety is as important to you as it is to us. ![]() As we work together to ensure a safe environment, we also love offering opportunities for our students to express their creativity. This enriching field trip included a workshop centered around the visiting exhibition, Canadian Modern (ROM). The exhibition showcased a diverse range of design works from Canadian designers, spanning textiles, product design, and graphic design. The workshop provided our students with a hands-on experience, allowing them to delve into the intricacies of design and its impact on everyday life. By engaging with the exhibition, students were able to explore the creative processes and innovative solutions presented by Canadian designers. This experience directly supports Criteria A: Inquiring and Analysing of the MYP Design curriculum, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. Field trips like this are invaluable in broadening our students' understanding of the vast career pathways available in Design and the Arts. They not only enhance academic learning but also inspire creativity and innovation, encouraging students to envision their future roles in these dynamic fields. In the new year, students will reflect on this experience and incorporate their insights into their second project. We are proud of our students' enthusiasm and engagement during this field trip and look forward to more opportunities that connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. ![]() ![]() ![]() Our graduating class had a great trip to Vancouver last weekend - enjoying some excellent meals out in the city and cheering on the Canucks in the evening! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() University of British Columbia recruiters were on campus on Wednesday - meeting students and letting them know about what UBC offers students and answering questions about life on campus and the application process.
