Shade Systems Champ of Champs Series gets underway 

One of the most coveted events on the bowling calendar kicks off this weekend as the Champion of Champions Singles opens the Shade Systems series for 2025.

With 26 clubs represented in the Men’s field and 21 in the Women’s, the event boasts a deep lineup of past champions, returning stars, and hungry new challengers. Among the headliners are defending champions Mike Galloway (Royal Oak) and Lisa Prideaux (Auckland BC), both aiming to go back-to-back against some serious competition.

All matches begin on Saturday across three venues, with semi-finals and finals at Remuera Bowling Club on Sunday from 9:00 am.

Pink Shirt Day – Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying 💗

Today is Pink Shirt Day – it’s all about standing up to bullying and building a place where everyone feels safe, respected, and included—no matter who they are.

Started by two Canadian students in 2007, this global movement now unites Aotearoa in the fight against bullying. Since 2012, the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand has led the charge, inspiring us to Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying!

Let’s celebrate diversity, promote kindness, and show that together, we can make a difference. Rock your pink with pride and help shape a kinder, more inclusive future for all.

Triples – Final 1-5 showdown of the season

The final event in the 1-5 Year programme is here – and it’s a biggie! This weekend, our bowlers take to the green for the much-anticipated 1-5 Year Triples.

Due to a less-than-ideal forecast for Sunday, all Post-Section play will now be held at Royal Oak. We're committed to finishing both events on the day, even if that means rolling into the early evening. The format allows for a maximum of four rounds for men and three for women, so bring your focus and stamina!

Pink Ribbon events

Join Royal Oak and Blockhouse Bay as they proudly host Pink Ribbon events on Thursday, 22 May in support of breast cancer awareness and research.

Remuera's Annual College Day

The annual College Day tournament took place at Remuera Bowling Club on Sunday, 4 May.

Under a brilliant, cloudless sky and in perfect windless conditions, 12 teams competed in a fun-filled day of bowls and camaraderie.

Taking top honours was the Hong Kong College team, made up of Danny Leung, Bet Leung, Penny Yam, and Virginia Leung (pictured).

It was a fantastic day for reconnecting with old friends and enjoying some friendly competition on the green.

PBA Auckland is back for 2025!

The Professional Bowls Association (PBA) returns in 2025 — your chance to stay sharp over the winter months and earn the opportunity to represent New Zealand at World Bowls Tour events in the UK.

Membership is open now, entries for events will open on 1 June and will be open until Thursday 5:00 pm, before the weekend of the events, with the draws being released at 3:00 pm Friday.
