Take a look at Committee for Wyndham's February

February 2025

February in Review:

A Month of New Opportunities and Planning Ahead!

At Committee for Wyndham, we remain committed to helping Wyndham thrive as a dynamic city within Victoria and on the national stage.

We are delighted to present key highlights from February and forthcoming initiatives aimed at fostering community connection and growth. From the Business Leaders Lunch event to exclusive private tours for corporate members, we are enhancing collaboration opportunities. Our ongoing partnership with local leaders ensures effective representation of Wyndham's priorities in government at all levels.

Following the recent Werribee by-election, we congratulate John Lister MP for his seat of Werribee. As a non-partisan, not-for-profit organisation, we look forward to working with him to advocate for our community’s needs and help drive economic growth across the region.

We’re excited to launch our Emerging Leaders Program this Tuesday. Over the next six months, participants will develop their leadership skills while working on projects focused on Wyndham’s future.

To stay informed and engaged, we invite you to follow us on our social media channels - Linkedin, Instagram, Faceook and YouTube. If you would like to promote a recent business venture, story, event or update contact our Communications Coordinator via email montana@committeeforwyndham.com.au.

We look forward to your continued involvement as we work together to shape a brighter future for Wyndham.

Warm Regards,

Leanne Down, CEO

Introducing Our New Committee for Wyndham

Charity Membership Level

At the Committee for Wyndham, we recognise the diverse landscape of businesses and organisations that make up our thriving community. That’s why we are excited to announce the launch of our Charity Membership Level—a dedicated membership designed to support and connect the incredible charities that play such a vital role in Wyndham.

Charities are the heart of our community, committed to making a difference by supporting people, driving social change, and enriching the region. By introducing this membership level, we aim to provide charities with greater opportunities to engage, collaborate, and amplify their impact alongside other key stakeholders in Wyndham.

To be eligible for Charity Membership, organisations must:

  • Hold DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status
  • Benevolent and focused on benefiting the community
  • Locally based and serving the Wyndham community

Membership is $980 + GST, and to ensure fair access to discounted rates, eligibility may be reviewed based on annual turnover.

We are proud to welcome more purpose-driven organisations into our network, strengthening our collective ability to advocate for, connect, and celebrate the work being done across Wyndham.

For more details on the benefits of our Charity Membership, visit our website. We look forward to growing this meaningful part of our community together!

Eagle Stadium: More Than a Stadium, A Community Hub for Wyndham

Recently, Leanne and Montana had the opportunity to tour Eagle Stadium, a facility that goes beyond sports to serve as a vital community hub for Wyndham. Operated under WynActive, Eagle Stadium is designed to support the health, wellbeing, and social needs of the community.

With a blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, the stadium offers something for everyone. The beautifully landscaped outdoor areas provide the perfect setting for summer days, while the multiple indoor courts—equipped with specialised acoustics—cater to a range of sports and activities. The Eagle Gym is open to the community, offering both group fitness classes and solo workout options to help individuals achieve their fitness goals. For parents, the on-site crèche provides a safe and convenient space for little ones, allowing time to focus on personal health and wellbeing.

Eagle Stadium plays a key role in illness prevention and lifelong fitness, welcoming all ages—from school sports programs to tailored gym sessions for seniors. It’s more than just a place for exercise; it’s a space for connection, growth, and opportunity.

Leanne and Montana had a fantastic experience and encourage members to take advantage of the many services Eagle Stadium offers—not just for fitness, but also for event activations and board meetings. Whether you’re looking for a place to stay active or a venue to host your next gathering, Eagle Stadium is ready to welcome you.

A Vision for Wyndham: Leanne's discussion with Cr. Larry Zhao

Recently, Leanne had the opportunity to meet with Cr Larry Zhao from Wyndham City Council to discuss the strategic direction of the Wyndham region. It was an engaging conversation, where Cr. Zhao outlined his key priorities for the community and shared how his dedication is driving meaningful progress in the area. His commitment to fostering growth and improving the region’s future is truly commendable.

We look forward to seeing the continued positive impact in his appointment as a Councillor representing Wyndham.

Collaborating for Impact: Enhancing Support and Bridging Gaps

Our CEO, Leanne, had the privilege of attending a Wyndham City Council-led session focused on reviewing the 2021-2025 Wyndham Health Plan. The session highlighted the achievements of the last health plan and outlined the key focus areas for the next four years, ensuring the health and wellbeing priorities align with regions needs.

The morning provided an opportunity to collaborate with, local health organisations and healthcare providers to discuss how we can all contribute to the next phase of the health plan. By identifying current efforts, future opportunities, and potential gaps, we’re helping to inform and shape a stronger, healthier Wyndham.

It was inspiring to see so many of our Committee for Wyndham members and health organisations in the room, sharing their insights and priorities. At the Committee for Wyndham, we’re committed to advocating for our members and our community, ensuring that their business voices are heard and that we continue to work together for a thriving, supported Wyndham.
