University of Warwick Science Park's Newsletter No images? Click here Welcome to the Summer Edition of SPARKThis edition of SPARK demonstrates the significant contribution of the UWSP community to regional innovation, business growth, and economic development. Our 2023/24 Impact Report outlines how UWSP and the more than 160 companies we work with do this. Notable are £11.2 million in funding raised by companies supported and the 153 new jobs they created, in addition to the nearly 900 companies engaged by our business support teams. This is reflected by The Park’s recognition for the second consecutive year as one of the Financial Times’ top 150 start-up hubs in Europe. Alongside this, UWSP’s Minerva Business Angels Network is advancing inclusive entrepreneurship by championing diversity in investment and start-up leadership. This edition also celebrates the successes of companies such as Techsol’s expansion in Binley, and MarchantCain’s move to the Park. Aligned with broader economic ambitions, UWSP’s owner, the University of Warwick, is playing a key role in a regional growth plan targeting the creation of 100,000 new jobs in the West Midlands by 2035. Beyond business, the community spirit of companies at UWSP is evident through the wellness initiatives, charitable efforts, and networking events detailed in this edition of SPARK. We hope you enjoy reading it.
