As the world rapidly changes, the AOD sector faces new challenges: budget constraints and rising debt, vaping, climate change, gaming addiction, misinformation, artificial intelligence (AI), novel synthetic drugs, geopolitical instability, and post-COVID shifts in how we live and work. These forces challenge the very foundations on which AOD
services and the broader social and community services sector operate.
