Happy Ramadan!

Ramadan happens during the ninth month on the Islamic Calendar. Ramadan 2023 is from March 23rd to April 20th. Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection and fasting for Muslims. Fasting refers to the practice of abstaining from food and drink as well as enacting patience, kindness, and charity. Eid al-Fitr is the holiday that marks the end of Ramadan. It is typically celebrated with congregational prayers and visiting friends and family.

Join the Penn State American Association of University Professors and author, researcher, and activist, Ralph Wilson on Friday, March 31st at noon for a discussion on "Dark Money and Free Speech: How Billionaires and Bigots are Using Campuses to Roll Back Civil Rights and Subvert Democracy". Wilson draws on his book, Free Speech and Koch Money: Manufacturing a Campus Culture War to discuss how demand for free speech on campus is a distraction and show us how to follow the money. Join the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for Disability Inclusion Dialogue on Tuesday, April 4th at 6:00 p.m. in 114 McAllister.  A panel of STEM professionals will share their personal experiences and give tips on navigating the workforce.  

Justice Education Week is a week-long event which runs April 14-21, 2023. The week consists of different modalities of community engagement to bring awareness to the crisis of incarceration, its human impact, and build support for transformative educational movements in carceral settings and beyond.  To learn more about the week's events, including how to register for each event, CLICK HERE.

Join the Penn State Eberly College of Science Sustainability Council on Monday, April 24th at Shavers Creek Environmental Center for the 2023 Sustainability Expo — a free public event focused on sustainability efforts at PennState. 2023 Capital Auto Auction Annual Scholarship

As the world grows more complex and demanding, it becomes more apparent that education is critical to solving the problems of both our nation and the world. Capital Auto Auction wants to help provide more individuals the opportunity to get a solid education and make a difference. To qualify, undergraduate students must be majoring in a STEM field of study (or related field) as well as attending an accredited college or university. Submit your application here by Tuesday, August 15th for your chance to earn a $1,000 scholarship! Two runner-ups will receive $250 to go toward textbooks.
