Easter Fours makes a triumphant comeback! The Royal Oak Bowls Club proudly heralds the return of its prestigious $12,000 Easter Fours Tournament, marking a triumphant revival after a three-year hiatus. This celebrated event, part of the Bowls NZ Summer of Bowls series, roared back to life following postponements due to Covid and upgrades to the facility. East Tāmaki’s 75th Jubilee FoursEaster event celebrates a legacy of camaraderie Diversity has always been at the heart of the East Tāmaki Bowling Club, with members hailing from various backgrounds and districts, each contributing their unique flair to the club's atmosphere. This diversity, coupled with a shared passion for competition, was on full display at the recent Easter's 75th Jubilee Fours event. It's bronze for Te AtatuFor 1-5 bowlers, Easter isn't just about chocolate eggs—it's about the thrill of competition, as evident at the Ōmokoroa Bowls Junior Easter Classic. Renowned as a lucrative 1-5s tournament, this event draws teams from far and wide to the picturesque coastal bowls club nestled in the Bay of Plenty. This year, the competition reached new heights with the inclusion of three teams from Auckland: Jean-Claude Fuller, Paul Ghezzi, and Joshua Tipene from Te Atatu; Peadar MacElvanna, Rebecca Brosnan, and Micheal Burns representing Royal Oak; and the Kohimarama team comprised of Lynley Pritchard, Desrae Garratt, and Joanne Hutchinson. After another day of intense qualifying rounds, teams were sorted into championship and plate divisions, setting the stage for epic battles. Among them, the Te Atatu and Royal Oak teams secured their spots in the Championship division, while Kohimarama vied for victory in the plate division. In the end, Te Atatu triumphed, bringing the bronze medal back to Auckland.
