The Power of Prediction On May 29th, DFI co-hosted a full-day conference, "The Future of Prediction: The Social Consequences of Algorithmic Forecast," organized by David Stark, the Arthur Lehman Professor of Sociology at Columbia University, Elena Esposito, Professor of Sociology at Bielefeld University and the University of Bologna, and Omar Besbes, the Vikram S. Pandit Professor of Business at Columbia Business School and co-director of DFI's Algorithmic Economy Lab. We welcomed colleagues from Sociology, the Business School, Statistics, and Computer Science, as well as social scientists across the industry to engage in thought-provoking discussions. Highlights from the Briger Family Digital Finance LabTLDR Conference 2024 The Latest in DeFi Research (TLDR) Conference aims to bring together academics, engineers, and practitioners to advance the state of DeFi. This two day conference on May 16 and 17, showcased new theoretical results, empirical analyses, and software implementations related to the DeFi ecosystem.
