The Second Annual Whoopie Pie Festival in Downtown Rutland.
The Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) offers a variety of sponsorship opportunities ranging in price. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support we receive from this community. By sponsoring a CEDRR event, you can boost your image and increase awareness of your business/organization. CEDRR’s next big event is our Third Annual Whoopie Pie Festival on Saturday, September 14 from 12-5 p.m. The Whoopie Pie Festival is a street party in historic Downtown Rutland. Over a dozen vendors from the Northeast
offer whoopie pie samples as they compete for the titles of “People’s Choice Award,” “Overall Best,” and “Most Creative.” Merchants Row and Center Street are shut down, transforming into a grass-covered Green Street with activities for all. Street performers and musicians entertain throughout the event. At the end of the day, Vermont’s largest whoopie pie is unveiled. Over 4,000 people attended the Second Annual Whoopie Pie Festival on September 16, 2023, and watched the assembly of a 770 lb whoopie pie created by Dream Maker Bakers in Killington. The world record is 1,062 lbs. If you are
interested in learning more about the sponsorship levels for the Whoopie Pie Festival and other community events, please reach out to Chrispin White! Email Chrispin here →
Expertise and Funding for Community Revitalization
Your village is an essential part of your community, Vermont’s identity, and future. The Village Trust Initiative is a new program offering expertise and funding to help towns with populations under 2,500. This helps create or bolster a local community trust organization (a 501c3 nonprofit organization that supports the vitality of the community) to support a revitalization project in their village. These projects could be the revitalization of a general store, the creation of a community center, improvements to the accessibility of an old town hall, the renovation of a large historic home into village-scale housing, and more.
There are many possibilities, so bring your creativity and vision to the table! The selection process begins with the completion of a simple intake form due Friday May 24, 2024 by 4 p.m. A select number of interested communities will be invited to submit a full application. If you are interested, submit the intake form and learn more here → Contact Nicole Gratton here if you have questions
