After successfully passing the House Committee on Education and the Workforce two months ago, this important legislation is scheduled for a critical floor vote as early as this Wednesday, February 28. Focused on extending Pell Grant eligibility to short-term workforce training programs, H.R. 6585 is a significant step for community colleges and workforce development. Specifically, it allows Pell Grants for programs ranging from 8 to 15 weeks (150 to 600 clock hours), addressing the demand for skilled workers in high-demand industries. It's time to mobilize! We urge you to contact your Congressional member(s) in the House of Representatives as soon as possible and ask them to vote in favor of the Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act. Your voice is crucial to ensuring accessible and quality education and development opportunities in our communities.
