Record Field, Big Finish At ABCA CupBy Weng Lim Another action-packed Saturday saw the 1–5 players back on the greens following the Canoe and Campi events. This time, it was the ABCA Cup – with a record 40 teams of mixed Fours split across Howick and Pakuranga. The format was simple: four round-robin games, each 1 hour 20 minutes. The play, however, was anything but simple – fiercely contested from the first bowl. By lunch, just seven teams had two wins, and with momentum shifting across the afternoon, it all came down to the wire. The final four were ultimately separated by ends won and, if needed, net total of shots. Results:
