Dear ADIA members, Thank you for your membership. Membership renewal for the new financial year is now open, and we welcome your continued support. ADIA is dedicated to providing members with the best possible return on their investments and will be acting and offering advice on these
key areas over the coming year: - Privacy: We work closely with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) to keep our members informed about any further updates to privacy laws. Additionally, a review of our Privacy Code is scheduled to ensure it remains effective and continues to mitigate risks for respondents, members, and clients, while maintaining our social license to
operate.
- Advocacy: We advocate for regulatory changes that ensure our research is conducted in a manner that includes protections and access for our members, including the upcoming ACMA SMS Sender ID Register. With our newly appointed Government Relations Advisor, ADIA will actively pursue arrangements (such as the Government MAS Panel training) that support member commercial activities as efficiently as possible.
- Workplace Relations: We will liaise with the United Workers Union (UWU) to maintain strong, good-faith relations between employers and employees, with the aim of establishing a new multi-enterprise Industry Agreement (subject to member
endorsement).
Andrew Maher, Partner CIE Legal, remains on call for workplace and privacy law member enquiries at no cost. - Quality Assurance: ADIA's direct involvement in the international steering group responsible for updating ISO 20252 (scheduled for
release in 2026, which includes a new AI annex) guarantees our members access to free and exclusive expert advice, training, and resources to support their businesses.
- ADIA Academy: We regularly provide new industry content for members and their employees, available online and on demand.
- Leaders Forum 2026: We invite you to attend our world-class conference in Sydney on May 7, where CEOs can learn, connect and collaborate to drive business growth and protect the industry's ecosystem.
With a second wave of privacy law changes anticipated later this year and increased regulation from the OAIC and ACMA, your membership and adherence to the ADIA Privacy (Market
and Social Research) Code and the Trust Mark have never been more
critical. Please be on the lookout for a personalised email this week from Jennifer Hodge, ADIA's Membership Manager, with renewal details. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact
Sarah Campbell, CEO, ADIA, on 0460 012 092.
