Hello again, !

We're just three weeks away from the Place Network Conference, with a few more things to think about:

Swag Exchange

A highlight of the conference! Bring as much of your school swag as you can fit in a suitcase and get ready to swap around. Who has the best t-shirts or place-based items? Will Waggoner Creek be able to outdo themselves with goodies such as a travel first-aid kit or that drawstring bag I still use at least twice a week? We shall see!

Conference Arrival

  • Transportation to/from the Jackson airport is not provided. Please ensure you secure transportation.

  • Check-in is on Tuesday, 4/21, between 3:00pm - 5:00pm. If you know you are arriving outside that window, please email me ASAP so that we can make other arrangements to get you settled.

Game and Sip Night

Join us in the lodge Wednesday evening after dinner for Game and Sip night. We'll provide wine, sparkling water, light snacks, and a handful of games. Bring your favorite, easy-to-learn games to share.

Jackson Hole: A Particularly Complex Place

As additional context for your trip, Leslie (Head of Professional Learning and longtime Jackson Hole resident) wanted you to see this NY Times article. As Leslie shares: "This article got a lot of circulation from my family and friends who live here or have visited me here. Over the years, I have watched Jackson become an increasingly unaffordable place to live, especially in terms of rent and home prices, and I have watched as the wealth and inequity continues to grow here too. This article added an interesting layer of how the national tax policy has had an impact on this rural community of about 20,000 residents."

Warmly,

Sharon Laidlaw
