Fostering a Sense of Belonging in the Classroom


In two videos, one for instructors and one for students, Kevin Binning , associate professor, Psychology, and LRDC Research Scientist, explains how students’ questions of belonging are often at the forefront of their minds during transitions such as the start of their college careers. In the instructor version, Binning also describes an activity he and colleagues developed to shape the culture and climate of the classroom to address student concerns about belonging.
