Professional Learning Community: Proficiency-Based Assessments

The NLRC Learning Community is a professional development opportunity open to LCTL instructors (K-16) nationwide. The learning community will provide relevant accessible readings, hands-on activities, and opportunities for sustained pedagogical discussion.

This year, the learning community will focus on assessment. Starting from proficiency-based language objectives or can-do statements, the learning community will develop task-based, proficiency-based formative and summative assessments that fit your course or program.

Find out more information on the Professional Learning Community page.

NLRC Social Media Highlight

There are a number of celebrations throughout the year that celebrate diverse cultures and languages. This month we featured Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month from September 15th all the way to October 15th on our social media. The NLRC acknowledges and recognizes the beautiful cultures and languages as well as diasporas of Hispanic and Latinx communities all over the world. We also featured International Translation Day, on September 30th! This day was founded in recognition of all those who participate in translating languages from one to another to promote language and culture exposure! Follow our social media to find out more in coming months about World Teacher’s Day, Native American Heritage Month, and more!
