Introducing your 2023 NYSF Year 12 Program Chiefs of Staff!

We're excited to introduce you to the 2023 NYSF Year 12 Program Chiefs of Staff!

Libby, Aadya, Isaac and the NYSF Staffie team help deliver the program as Student Staff Leaders.

NYSF Staffies have been though the NYSF Year 12 Program in recent years and subsequently undergo training through the NYSF Student Staff Leadership Program.

You will get to hang out in your "Constellation groups" with our amazing Staffie team as they expertly guide you through each day of the Program.

You'll be introduced to the full Staffie team later in the year....

"I am so excited to see where the digital and STEM Hub format takes us this year and the new opportunities it presents to our Staffie team to run the best program for you. The chance to meet amazing like-minded people is something that will change your lives forever, and lectures with experts from all over Australia (and the world!) will open your minds to the diversity of STEM.

My advice for all incoming NYSFers would be to go in with your mind and eyes open. It is best not to have too many expectations as each day will be a surprise!"

- Staffie Libby

Program announcement

We're busy locking in the most awe-inspiring, conversation-starting, future-looking speakers and visits for you in January. Our digital program has no geographical boundary, so we are expanding your options! Closer to home, we have many fantastic visits to STEM organisations around Australia in the works.

The best bit? If you want to, you'll be able to mix and match sessions between in-person and digital hubs, depending on your STEM interests.

As you can imagine, the COVID-19 pandemic brings with it some extra programming challenges. We are so excited to have these sessions locked in and announced, and we have a stack more that we are putting the final touches on. We will announce these over the coming months.

The NYSF was action-packed!

"The digital program in January was absolutely action-packed! There was always so much going on and so much to learn. It was a very immersive experience. We got to hear from a variety of perspectives from many different scientists around the world, and it was absolutely enjoyable."

- Thuy, 2022 NYSF participant

Frequently Asked Questions

Every Rotary District runs the interview processes a little differently, so we have prepared information below to help. If you cannot find an answer in relation to your query, please get in contact.

If you:

Have already been selected and received an offer from the NYSF:

Congratulations! Please accept your offer to start your onboarding. Once you accept your offer and complete your online participation form, both you and your parent/guardian will receive a program agreement via email to read and sign, and once we have your signed agreement, an invoice for the program fee will be sent to your parent. Program fees are due on 13 November.

Have submitted your application and have already been contacted by Rotary for an interview:

Fantastic! We wish you well and have fun!

Have submitted your application/or want to but have been told that interviews are over and/or your Rotary Club cannot endorse you:

Good news! Soon after you apply you will be contacted to take part in a late round interview process which will be centralised and will include representatives from Rotary and in some cases, NYSF alumni.

Need funding? You can apply as self-fund and then apply for an NYSF Access and Equity Scholarship if you are eligible.
