Driven by our commitment to providing tangible benefits to our members, we are hitting the ground running this week with the release of our 90 Day Plan, outlining a detailed roadmap for the fulfillment of our Five Core Pillars; industry development, community, research, professional development, and advocacy.
We want to prove our worth and demonstrate our ability to deliver exactly what our members need. Under the leadership of our Chair of the Board, Peter King, we are ready to embark on this remarkable journey together.
The plan highlights crucial milestones, including the appointment of our CEO by the end of July, the establishment of State and Territory Chapters with their chairs and committee members, and the formation of our dedicated Board of Directors.

As part of our commitment to our members, in addition to our Sydney and Melbourne events we’ve already hosted, we will host a series of Member Events starting with Adelaide (13 July), Perth (20 July), Darwin (27 July) and Brisbane (31 July).
Over the next three months, we will be touring major cities and select regional destinations, providing invaluable face-to-face opportunities and filling key positions within the association. Stay tuned for details.
Special Interest Groups will also be held, covering essential areas such as Sustainability, Emerging Leaders, WH&S, and Education. These groups will serve as platforms for collaboration and innovation, shaping the future of our industry.
For full details on upcoming events, visit the calendar on our website over the coming weeks.

To achieve our advocacy targets, we are establishing an Advocacy Framework that will identify key stakeholders within government and industry. We aim to reinforce existing relationships while forging new partnerships that will empower our collective voice.
Additionally, we have exciting updates on the horizon regarding our $2 billion business events research project, reflecting our dedication to evidence-based decision-making.
At ABEA, we firmly believe that representing the needs of all industry members is paramount. That's why we are conducting industry-wide consultations through our Member Events, ensuring your voice is heard and your perspectives are taken into account.
