Our compliance and enforcement policy for early childhood services

Our new policy details how we will support and ensure compliance and the tools we will use to address non-compliance.

Early childhood providers, services, nominated supervisors and educators under both the National Quality Framework and the State Act should refer to the policy to understand how we will interact with you regarding compliance with the Law and Regulations. 

New complaints and feedback framework for regulated parties and the public

We welcome your feedback to improve our ability to achieve regulatory outcomes. Our new complaints and feedback framework outlines how we receive and manage complaints about the services or actions of the Board, an early childhood education and care service or educator, or a school. 

We have also clarified and updated the scope of the complaints we can receive about an early childhood service or educator.

Changes to the National Quality Framework from 1 July 2023

In 2022 Education Ministers agreed to changes to the NQF based on findings from the 2019 NQF Review. 

The second round of approved changes come into effect on 1 July 2023 and include changes for all service types, including changes specific to centre-based care, out of school hours care and family day care.
