Presenting your Research with Confidence When: 10 September 2021, 10:00am - 12:30pm If you’re a researcher then at some stage you are going to have to present your findings. It’s tempting to get up and just read your paper, but to really speak to your audience you need to be able to communicate skilfully and with conviction. We’ve all been to dull presentations so it’s worth your while spending a little time to learn how to do it properly. This workshop will provide a clear step-by-step structure that you can use again and again to give high quality presentations. Register here. Working with your Supervisor (Professions) When: 17 September 2021, 10:00am - 12:00pm The relationship you have with your supervisor is crucial in determining your PhD experience. They are your primary source of guidance as you undertake an individual research project and even the best student/supervisor relationships can experience periods of strain through the ups and downs of research. In this workshop you will learn what you can do to establish a positive working relationship with your supervisor and ultimately get the most out of your HDR experience. Register here. Please note: This session is for Faculty of Professions students only. Sessions for other faculties are coming soon. Social Media Networks for Researchers When: 22 September 2021, 10:30am - 11:30am Social media is the most effective tool available to the researcher to tell the stories of their research. But all too often researchers shy away from social media because they see it as a distraction from their research work. This fear is compounded when social media gurus suggest that hours per week need to be devoted to each platform to make them effective. This webinar will explain a different approach to social media specifically tailored to the needs of researchers and recognising the restrictions on their time and resources. Register here.
