8 January 2026 Nationwide Assessment of CCTV in ECEC settings | Reminder to submit Stage 1 Expression of Interest (EOI) by 13 January 2026Australian Governments have committed to improving the safety, health and wellbeing of children in early childhood education and care (ECEC). Education Ministers across Australia have agreed to undertake a national CCTV Assessment in up to 300 services across the nation to determine how the safe and effective use of CCTV can be utilised as an appropriate and effective tool in maximising child safety and generate a robust evidence base to inform broader policy decisions regarding the use of CCTV in ECEC services. Assessment overview The Commonwealth Department of Education has engaged Nous Group, on behalf of all governments, to design and implement the Assessment. A sector briefing was held on Friday 19 December 2025 to provide an overview of the Assessment design and the Expression of Interest process. You can find a recording of the session, a copy of the presentation slides and Q&A responses by clicking here. Want to be involved?
