House of Representatives Passes the Build Back Better Act

This morning, Friday November 19th, 2021, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 5376,  Build Back Better Act, by a vote of 220 – 2013. This is the reconciliation legislation that Democrats have been working on to advance President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda. The bill includes nearly $40 billion for higher education and workforce development.

The bill now moves to the Senate where it will likely be modified to conform to Senate rules of reconciliation and to gain the support of all 50 Democratic Senators. For more information on how the bill will impact community colleges and students, you can check out ACCT’s fact sheet here.
