Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T

As the new school year is in full swing, there’s no better time to incorporate Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T into your fall programming. Whether you’re a teacher, after-school program leader, or part of a community organization, this fully supported program offers teens in grades 8-12 the chance to make a meaningful impact by teaching essential digital skills to adults—all while building skills for their future. This month, our teens have trained 1,089 adults on digital skills!

We’re excited to welcome several new teams to the Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T family, including high schools and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapters. Additionally, teens across the country are engaging in some truly creative projects:

  • Capitol City Changemakers hosted a fun, Harry Potter-themed training session, combining digital skills education with a touch of magic.
  • Buffalo FBLA took the lead at the local YMCA, offering hands-on training to community members.

Spotlight on Teen Leaders

This month, we’re featuring Michael Schmalz, a passionate teen from Birmingham, Alabama, and a leader on the Digital Harmony team. Michael is driving change in his community through digital skills and digital inclusion, embodying what Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T is all about.

Digital Skills Training led by Connected Nation

In the past month, our Digital Skills Training Program reached 794 participants through 77 workshops, partnering with 19 organizations.

In Bastrop County, Texas, we teamed up with Bastrop County Cares, hosting sessions across four locations and training 320 adults in essential digital skills like phone, computer, email, and online safety. Local support contributed to the success.

In Bowling Green, Kentucky, the International Center of Kentucky is offering digital skills training in multiple languages, helping immigrants and refugees access vital digital literacy skills for daily life and job opportunities. The center plans to expand these sessions to reach more adults.

Our bilingual Digital Skills Trainers, Alek and Marco, create a welcoming environment that resonates with diverse participants. Attendees consistently praise their engaging teaching style and ability to simplify complex topics.

For a deeper look at their impact, check out the interviews:

  • Interview with Alek and Marco – Hear about their experiences as trainers and how they make digital skills accessible to all.
