Rapid Response Team steps up patrols to enhance safetyFrankston City Council’s Safer Communities Rapid Response Team is increasing patrols in central Frankston to tackle Community Local Law issues relating to smoking and drinking in public spaces. The team will patrol Wells St, Shannon Mall, Young St and Station St areas of the Frankston Metropolitan Activity Centre to focus on enforcement of Council’s Community Local Law 2020 and provisions relating to smoking and alcohol consumption in public places. New bridge over Kananook Creek at Seaford WetlandsNow open: A beautiful new timber-clad pedestrian and cycling bridge over Kananook Creek (near the Melbourne Water pumping Station) in the Seaford Wetlands. This bridge aims to close the loop around the wetlands for walkers, joggers and bike riders and provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the trail with family and friends (including the four-legged variety!). Bridge lighting is coming soon, too. This is stage one of the Seaford Wetlands Rejuvenation Project funded by the Victorian Government’s Suburban Parks Program. Annual hard waste collectionCouncil’s annual hard waste collection service will begin on 29 April through to June 7. Please leave your hard waste on your nature strip – collection will begin from 6am Monday, during your collection week. You can place up to 2 cubic metres of hard waste on your nature strip no earlier than the Saturday (2 days) before your collection week commences. The Hell of a Time Tour will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his Flesh and Wood album and will see Jimmy in up-close-and-personal mode, telling short stories and tall tales as well as songs from Flesh and Wood and his extensive catalogue.
