Dear members,

Late in 2025, the leadership of the ADIA and TRS boards began informal discussions about a possible merger of the two associations.  In February of this year, an MoU was signed between the two organisations, formalising the intent to pursue discussions with a view to a merger.

Over the past six months, a Merger Committee, comprising the Presidents, Vice Presidents, and CEOs of our two associations, has been meeting regularly to develop an appropriate approach, with support and input from their respective boards and independent consultants.

Today, we are delighted to inform you that - after conducting appropriate due diligence, including detailed financial analysis, consideration of international experiences and negotiation - a joint meeting of the two associations’ boards on 29 June unanimously endorsed a joint merger model, involving a new Constitution for the merged entity, outlining the entity’s ‘object’ or purpose, membership categories, board composition and voting rights.

We are now ready to move to the next phase, which involves you.

Over the next couple of months, ADIA and TRS will provide information about the proposed merger and ask for your feedback and vote. Both associations have information on their respective websites, including FAQs.  In addition, ADIA and the TRS will conduct an online member information session and will send members the details for each shortly.

Voting on the proposed merger will take place online from 5 to 16 October. If passed by members, this will trigger a special resolution to be tabled at the respective TRS and ADIA AGMs on 18 November 2026.

So, in closing and subject to your vote, TRS and ADIA members can look forward to becoming part of a new, larger and visionary entity for our industry.  Our vision is to create a combined association that provides greater coverage and wider representation in our industry while continuing to provide the very best member services.
