In 2022, we have broken our record of thesis completions AGAIN (we had 418 in 2020) – last year’s final number was 439. WOW! I would like to congratulate all students and their supervisors on such a successful year and thank everyone involved in making this happen. Challenge accepted to repeat this success. Please be reminded, the Grad School is here to support all of you, either face-to-face in the Schulz Building on Level 10 between 10am and 4pm or by email graduate.research@adelaide.edu.au and phone at 08 831 5582. We will also continue with our informal lunchtime catch-ups every first Friday of each month. Watch out for Zoom details to be sent on the day. As last year, the Grad School is offering Travel Grants again. The first round for 2023 will open on the 1st February and close 5th March for travel up to 30 September 2023. Once open, applications can be submitted via the Career’s Hub page https://scholarships.adelaide.edu.au/Scholarships/postgraduate-research/all-faculties/adelaide-graduate-research-school-travel-grants. Australian Government Research Training Program – 2023 value According to the guidelines, The University of Adelaide is required to notify you of the estimated amount of Australian Government support provided for each type of RTP Scholarship support. This is for your information – no action is required. Research Training Program Fee Offset: In 2023 the RTP Fee Offset is valued at $31,536 per annum up to 4 years for PhD and 2 years for Masters by Research. This is Commonwealth funding paid to the University to offset your higher degree by research tuition fees. The RTP Fee Offset is not paid to you and has no bearing on any existing HECS-HELP debt you may have. Research Training Program Stipend: The Vice Chancellor has endorsed an increase to Commonwealth (and University of Adelaide funded scholarships) from the Research Training Program Base Rate of $29,863 to $32,500 per annum. Due to system changes required there may be a delay in your payment to the adjusted rate, but you will receive a back payment from 1st January 2023. Research Training Program Scholarship Allowances: Please refer to the 2023 Scholarship Conditions of Award for information about paid allowances for RTP Stipend recipients. All scholarship enquiries can be sent to the Research Scholarships Team via research.scholarships@adelaide.edu.au. Scholarship Pay Dates for 2023:
