CEDRR to Take Part in Community Navigator Pilot Program
Following the success of the Restart Vermont Technical Assistance (ReVTA) Program in supporting businesses impacted by COVID-19, the Regional Development Corporations (RDCs) of Vermont have been tapped as regional partners as part of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Community Navigator Pilot Program (CNPP). Using a "hub and spoke" model, Vermont Small Business Development Center created the CNPP to leverage partnerships with trusted community-based organizations to reduce barriers that all small businesses —including those owned by disadvantaged groups such as veterans, women, BIPOC business owners, and those from rural communities—often face in accessing critical support. CEDRR will help by coordinating
critically important technical assistance to businesses and organizations impacted by COVID. This program hires Vermont-based technical assistance providers to support Vermont-based businesses through their continued COVID recovery. There are links for businesses and applicants to register at the bottom of this newsletter. Read the full article!→

Fair Haven's Town Manager discusses the Pet Mayor Position
Town Manager, Joe Gunter in front of Fair Haven's Municipal Building.
On this Town Meeting Day, students in Fair Haven will cast their ballot for a new Pet Mayor. "This is an adorable project, I love it," says Joe Gunter, Fair Haven's Town Manager. The first pet elected was Lincoln the Goat, the most recent was Murfee, a Cavalier King Charles. Both pets helped raised money for a new playground at the Fair Haven Grade School. Mayor Murfee went on to fund a dog park as well. Mayor Murfee's advice to the next elected official, "The new mayor should be involved. Pick a pet project that supports kids, seniors, or fellow pets." During Mayor Murfee's time in office, he raised over $30,000, but Gunter says the important message is instilling the
importance of voting among Fair Haven's youngest community members. Hopefully increasing voter participation for generations to come. Explore Fair Haven →
