It's been many busy hands since the last edition, so please read on and enjoy staying up to date with what's happening in our community.

 
 

At our recent Council meeting I was pleased to be able to report that at the end of the last quarter (Oct – Dec) we are very close to being on-track in delivering the items in this financial year's Budget. This is particularly pleasing as Council, like many other organisations in our community have continued to deliver our services during a challenging period.

And don't forget, it's a it's a half-day holiday from 12 noon on Friday 25 March for all employees within the Albury City Local Government Area.

If you weren’t able to enjoy the inaugural Riverside Vibes a couple of weeks ago, you can still experience the amazing Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk on your very own... it’s the ultimate outdoor art gallery beneath the gumtrees.

Roll out a picnic rug, soak up the breathtaking views, and stroll along the riverbank to discover the unique story behind each art installation.

This must-see local treasure is home to the ‘Guguburras’, the newest edition to the intricately crafted Indigenous sculpture collection.

Embark on a journey through the world of contemporary photography with MAMA’s National Photography Prize 2022 exhibition.

This year’s finalists explore stories about community, family, and language, while simultaneously evoking reflection on some of the most pressing issues of our time.

Enjoy a fun-filled day at the Museum with family and friends.

Rain didn’t hold riders and skaters back from hitting the bowl at the recent Retro Youth event, Famuary.

The skate park came alive with tunes from local bands, while food vendors kept their energy levels up during a jam-packed day of tail-whips and triple flips.

Bring your bike and try out the new pump track, have a go at the climbing wall, or shoot some hoops on the basketball court at our newly renovated skatepark.

Your views will help shape the Albury Local Housing Strategy and strengthen our housing market by planning for affordable and well-designed homes.

An unusually wet summer, combined with high humidity has led to rapid grass growth.

While the rain has regenerated our outdoor spaces with luscious green grass, our mowing crews have been working extra hard to keep up with the growth and have been prioritising the maintenance of local parks, recreation spaces, reserves, sports grounds, streetscapes and walkways.

We’re home to a large grey-headed flying-fox colony that helps establish and regenerate our native bushland. Thanks to these tiny critters, our local ecosystem continues to thrive.

One of the ways we check in on our flying-foxes is by conducting quarterly counts to learn more about their population size.

The storm water network on Gap Road is getting a makeover, with old pipes being replaced to ensure storm water goes where it needs to, well into the future.

Road closures may affect your usual travel path, so plan an alternate route while works take place.
