Discover our impact at the FBLA National Conference and Digital Skills Training in Michigan and Texas

Welcome to our July newsletter! This month, we're excited to share updates and highlights from our Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T, and Digital Skills Training programs. We've been hard at work empowering communities with essential digital literacy skills and creating opportunities for meaningful impact.

Read on to discover what we've been up to and where we have been, including our recent participation in the Future Business Leaders of America National Conference and the ongoing digital skills training we've been conducting in communities!

Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T

At the end of June, our team had the privilege of attending the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Conference in Orlando. It was an incredible experience where we had the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of teens, teachers, and mentors.

We were thrilled to see so much enthusiasm and interest in Teens Teach Tech, powered by AT&T. Many teens, along with their teachers and mentors, signed up to start their own projects. The energy and excitement from these young leaders are truly inspiring, and we can't wait to see the amazing work they will accomplish in their communities.

New Teams in Los Angeles and Louisville

We’re excited to announce that new Teens Teach Tech teams have kicked off with Bivium in Los Angeles and the Somali Community of Louisville in Louisville. These teams are set to make a significant impact in their respective communities.

Summer Showdown

Don't forget, the Summer Showdown is still going strong! This special initiative offers double the usual incentive for each person trained through a Teens Teach Tech project. It's a fantastic opportunity for teens to make an even greater impact while earning rewards for their efforts.

If you haven't already, we encourage you to promote the Summer Showdown within your networks. Let's work together to bridge the Digital Divide and empower more individuals with essential tech skills.

Digital Skills Training led by Connected Nation

Connected Nation also had the pleasure of conducting digital skills training in both Michigan and Texas, partnering with Michigan Works!, the North East Michigan Council of Governments (NEMCOG), Community Catalysts, AUTMHQ, and the Sunshine House. These sessions provided valuable hands-on experience with computers and mobile devices, covering essential topics such as computer basics, internet safety, and more. In June, our dedicated trainers successfully trained 272 individuals, equipping them with the skills needed to navigate the digital world confidently. We're grateful for the support and collaboration of our partners in making these training sessions a success and helping individuals gain the digital skills they need.

Organizations and nonprofits can bring these computer classes to your community at NO COST! It is a great opportunity to empower others on their digital literacy journey. If your organization is interested in getting started, simply fill out an interest form here or contact Tammy Spring at: tspring@connectednation.org.

Classes are open to everyone! Don't miss this opportunity to unlock the power of technology in your community!
