Headteacher update

Hello all,

I hope you all enjoyed a restful Easter break, and were able to get out and about to enjoy the wonderful weather we've been so spoilt with of late. Long may it continue!

It is my sincere hope that if we continue to enjoy warmer weather in the coming weeks and months, and our families are able to make the most of being outdoors, this will result in a reduction in the number of positive Covid-19 cases in our local communities.

You will hopefully have seen the latest

guidance that I sent out to all parents and carers on Monday 25th April, which outlines the 'Living with Covid Plan' now that lateral flow tests are no longer being provided free of charge by the government. This essentially means that the requirement for schools to test has been removed, and is no longer included in our risk assessment.

We do however still have a duty of care in relation to the health and safety of our school community, and so will continue to:

  • Ensure all eligible groups are enabled and supported to take up the offer of national vaccination programmes including COVID-19 and flu
  • Ensure occupied spaces are well-ventilated and let fresh air in
  • Reinforce good hygiene practices such as handwashing and cleaning.

As always, please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would like further information.

Warm wishes,

Gina Wagland

Chair update

Hello everyone,

Hope you all enjoyed a good Easter break and are all making a positive start to the summer term.

We have had some new staff starting this term, and I am delighted to welcome them to Highgate Hill House School and welcome back to all our existing staff!

Sometimes world events are highest in our consciousness, and with the war still going on in Ukraine, this is one of those times, other things seem a little

trivial in comparison, and our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Kind regards,

Dr Julie Smith

Chair of the Board

Welcome to our new staff

We are very pleased to announce that we have a number of new staff starting with us this term. They are:

Angie Cripps - Teacher and Maths Lead

Claire Lees - LSA

Leigh Burman - LSA

Sian Loach - LSA

Morag Finnegan - LSA

No doubt you will join us in making them feel a very welcome addition to the HHHS Team.

Wishing you all every success in your new roles!

Kindness rocks!

If you're out and about in Bude soon, keep your eyes peeled...

Our pupils have hidden some painted kindness rocks near the Castle grounds at Bude.

If you find them, please take a photo and tag us on social media. We'd love to see people enjoying them!
