ADOPT-A-HIGHWAYClean-up scheduled for April 20th
CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS to participate in our next Adopt-a-Highway clean-up. This one is scheduled for Saturday, April 20th beginning at 10am. The park district has partnered with Lake County to maintain Hutchins Rd. from Stearns School Road to Grand Avenue. Per our agreement, we get a volunteer crew together twice a year to clean-up along the sides of the road. It usually only takes an hour. This is a great way for students to earn community service hours! Lake County supplies safety vests, and the park district supplies the bags and pick-up tools. If you have a pair of work gloves, feel free to bring them. Water will be available to all volunteers. If you have an hour and would like to help out, please contact Leslie Cassidy in the park district office by email at parkdistrict@grandwoodpark.net, or by telephone at 847-356-0008.

Thank you to everyone that attended our 2024 Daddy Daughter Dance. It was a wonderful evening, and judging by the smiles it's safe to say everyone had a great time!
The Kid's Culinary Class was a hit! For the final class, students invited two guests each and showcased their new skills to them by cooking a spinach ravioli dinner, setting the table, serving their guests, and then enjoyed their meal together. Some of the kids showed up in suit and tie, and with custom chef hats and aprons! We're so proud of these little chefs as they've learned valuable life and kitchen skills over the last six weeks, such as measuring, knife skills and safety, how to set the table, food literacy, independence, and confidence!
Keep an eye out as we'll likely offer the Kids Culinary Class over the summer!
The Park District office has a new space! The office has moved to the front of the community center into the area that used to be the preschool. We are very excited about the new space! We have ample space for our supplies, files, printers, etc.!! We even have room for our visitors to have a seat while we talk, and a table for folks that need to fill out forms to sit at while they fill them out. If you come to the office, be sure to come to
the FRONT door and ring the bell if the door is locked. Here's a look at our new space ....

LAKE COUNTY COYOTES SPRING 2024 HOME SCHEDULE
Come and watch a practice or two .... or come to a home game! Everyone is welcome!!
Lake County Coyotes 2023 Season Rewind The Coyotes started 2023 off with their spring season - every year we play in non-conference matches to prepare for the summer tournament season and fall regular season. The coyotes went 5-1 in the spring season with their loss being by 8 points. This pushed us to go on into the summer with a full head of steam finishing 2nd and 4th in two tournaments while winning the championship at Lion Hunter 7s. After impressive spring and summer seasons the Coyotes eyes were set on the fall season where from the beginning we were overlooked by our league and union to finish in the bottom half of our division. We finished our regular seasons 5-1 defeating the previous league champions and Midwest Championship finalist, the Chicago Riot. After our 5-1 season we hosted our first playoff match in over a decade where we defeated the Oshkosh Mighty Pigs in the play-in round. The next weekend our season came to an end after falling to Wisconsin Rugby Club in Madison, Wi. 2023 was a great year but our expectations are high and our goals haven’t
wavered. We plan to be in the playoffs again and we plan to make it to the Midwest finals - but only our passion and grit will determine our fate. Jeff Jewell
President
