The event will be held on Wednesday, December 11 at 8:30 a.m. in the Streetside Conference Center, 67 Merchants Row in Downtown Rutland. Vermont Saves will improve the financial security of tens of thousands of Vermonters. The program creates a retirement savings plan for Vermonters not offered a plan through their employer. Employers with 5 or more employees who do not currently offer their workers a retirement plan will be required to sign up for Vermont Saves by the end of February 2025. Their workers will automatically be enrolled in a Roth IRA account. Employees can set their own contribution rate, use the program default (5%), or opt out of the program if they choose. The program makes saving for retirement simple and automatic. At no cost to employers or taxpayers, Vermont Saves will help secure a stable retirement for Vermont's workforce. Join us to learn more! Regional Priority Projects Applications are OpenThe Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region, in partnership with the Rutland Regional Planning Commission, is accepting applications from businesses, non-profits, and municipalities to be considered as a Rutland County Regional Priority Project. The goal is to produce a list of high-priority economic and community development projects that meet certain eligibility requirements. The regional lists are provided to the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development each December, with new projects considered again in May for potential updates. The lists will be used by local, regional, and statewide organizations to understand the regional funding needs and allow regional economic and community development staff to help match federal and state funding to projects. Inclusion on the Regional Priority Projects list also provides a boost to applications made for funding through the Northern Borders Regional Commission. The deadline for applications is Friday, November 15th at 5:00 pm. If you have questions or would like an application sent to you via email, please reach out to Cooper Babbitt, CEDRR Operations Director, at cooper@rutlandeconomy.com. |
