In the United States, purchasing a home is often one of the most significant financial decisions a person or family will make. Homes are often expensive, but it is common that homebuyers do not pay the full price at once. Instead, they may combine their personal savings with a loan from a financial institution. To support newcomers who may be ready to buy a home but are unfamiliar with the U.S. process, RHS developed a step-by-step guide. This resource, Buying a Home: A How-To Guide for Newcomers, is now available in Dari. Tomorrow: All Things Housing Officer Hour Join RHS and Switchboard tomorrow as we answer your housing-related questions. Whether you’re new to housing or an experienced housing practitioner, join us for free, informal housing support. When: Tues., Jun. 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET Where: Zoom Final days for housing stakeholders to make their voices heard in the FY 2026 Needs Assessment!Tell us how we can better support housing providers by answering a brief survey. The needs assessment survey, which closes on June 30, targets housing stakeholders (i.e. landlords, property managers, and other housing providers) to better understand opportunities and challenges related to renting to newcomers. The insights from this survey will directly inform the support offered by RHS so we can help streamline the rental process, reduce administrative burden, and strengthen partnerships that benefit both property owners and tenants.
