The Housing Hub and Directory goes nationwide with coverage across all 50 states and the District of Columbia.Refugee Housing Solutions is proud to announce a significant milestone in our history as our Housing Directory now has coverage across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. This expansion allows us to provide housing support through the Housing Hub and Directory throughout the United States. With the recent additions of Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Kansas, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming, the RHS Housing Directory now includes housing resources and related service providers in locations across the entire United States. The Housing Directory launched in 2024 as a central database of housing support services and resources for different locations. It helps refugees and other people involved in resettlement find important local housing information, including affordable housing programs, housing providers, financial assistance, supportive community services, housing counseling and support, and more.
Current service categories searchable in the Housing Directory The Directory will continue to expand in high-priority areas, and efforts are ongoing to continue improving the Directory’s relevance and accuracy through systematic data verification. RHS is also integrating its Housing Directory with the State-by-State Resource Map created by Refugee Welcome Collective, another national capacity building project of Church World Service, to ensure locally crowdsourced and vetted community resources support housing opportunities and stability for refugees and other newcomers. Both interactive map tools currently reference each other with easy-to-use linkages between states, with ongoing efforts to streamline the resource and service submission processes in order to expand and improve both maps through community participation. The term "ORR-eligible populations" refers to individuals who are eligible to receive services and benefits administered by the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Eligibility is determined by Congress, and exact benefits may vary by eligibility category. For a current list of eligible populations, please visit ORR's website. Refugee Housing Solutions is a project of Church World Service (CWS), which received a cooperative agreement through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, CA #90XR0092. The contents of the Housing Hub and Directory are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families.
