Elevating Coaching skillsRescheduled from its usual spot at the beginning of the month, on Wednesday evening, coaches gathered for the second Coach Development Workshop held at Bowls Auckland office. The session was an engaging deep dive into SWOT analysis, emphasising its effectiveness in assisting athletes and coaches in the sport of bowls. Coach Developers Les Eagleton and Brendon Walton led the workshop, guiding attendees through topics such as; Player Attributes, Individual Performance Plans, Head Reading, Player Selection, and Performance Standards. The workshop was highly interactive, allowing coaches to actively participate in exercises that deepen their understanding and equip them with practical tools to apply in their coaching practice. Coaches left the workshop inspired, armed with valuable knowledge and resources that will undoubtedly enrich their future coaching endeavours. Our next coaching development workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, 4 September. September's workshop will focus on, teaching players the basics of the laws and the importance of coaching etiquette in bowls—two essential topics for all coaches. Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your coaching skills! For more information on our coach development sessions or to be added to the email invite/reminder list, contact les@bowlsauckland.co.nz.
