Annual Declarations outstanding

The due date for Annual Declarations passed on 1 June 2016. 

An important reminder to all holders of a financial (pecuniary) interest in a pharmacy business, whether as a sole proprietor, partner, or shareholder or director in a pharmacists body corporate, to provide the Council with your completed Annual Declaration, if you have not already done so.

Declarations must be completed even if you have disposed of your interest.

If the pharmacy is owned by a Pharmacists’ Body Corporate you need to state the name of the Pharmacists’ Body Corporate on the declaration. If a trust is acting as trustee for the Pharmacists’ Body Corporate, then you need to include the name of the trust as well.

Is it OK to bulk-sell scheduled medications?

Recently there has been a noticeable increase in reports of pharmacies participating in bulk selling of goods, akin to wholesaling.

Quarterly update from the Victorian Pharmacy Authority (VPA)

The Victorian Pharmacy Authority (VPA) is the successor in law to the Pharmacy Board of Victoria. The VPA is responsible for administration of the Pharmacy Regulation Act 2010 (the Act) which provides for the regulation of pharmacy businesses, pharmacy departments and pharmacy depots.

The VPA releases quarterly circulars which the Council will provide a link to in future newsletters. Please note that the VPA Circular relates to Victorian legislation which may differ in parts to NSW legislation.
