Dear Brookes Westshore families and friends, It has been a busy and exciting week at school! Thanks to all the families who joined us for Monday’s Parent Teacher Conferences to connect with teachers. Your partnership makes a big difference. Our Senior Volleyball teams had an incredible time at the Island Championships! Both girls’ and boys’ teams played with heart and great sportsmanship. We are proud to share that our Senior Girls’ Volleyball team will be heading to the Provincials in two weeks! Congratulations to all our athletes and coaches! Today’s Puppy Palooza brought smiles all around and was a wonderful way to end the week. Next week, we welcome a guest speaker, Bryan Saint-Louis, on Radical Empathy, who will challenge us to think more deeply about understanding, connection and compassion in our daily lives. We look forward to seeing families next Thursday at 4-5 pm for the parent session. With gratitude,
Dr. Rui Li Principal

Bottle Drive 2025! Tuesday November 4th to Monday November 24th We are the Community Service ASA that meets on Monday afternoons. We have been working hard to put together a bottle drive. We are asking people to collect and bring their bottles to school starting Tuesday November 4th and ending Monday November 24th at 3:30pm. We are accepting soda cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles, beer cans, and wine bottles. Make sure the bottles you bring have been cleaned! We will have bottle drive bins set up on the bridge in the mornings (8:20 am - 8:40 am) and the courtyard for the rest of the day, one in Common Room 1, and another inside the Dining Hall. We are going to donate all funds from the bottle drive to a charity: The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). IFAW is a global non-profit organization that protects animals and their habitats worldwide, rescuing wildlife and restoring hope. They work to help animals and people thrive, rescues animals, protects nature, and inspires change — for a world where all life prospers. Thank you!
What a week for our Senior Girls' Volleyball team! Competing at the Island Championships, our athletes showcased not only their exceptional skill but also the resilience and determination that define our school community. After a series of hard-fought matches, the team proudly claimed the bronze medal, a testament to their commitment and skill. Special recognition goes to Avery and Meghan, whose outstanding performances earned them All-Star honors, and to Aria, whose powerful hitting kept the energy high and the scoreboard moving. Yet beyond individual accolades, this achievement reflects the strength of the team as a whole - a group that supported one another, celebrated successes, and learned from the challenges they faced together. As we celebrate this bronze medal, we also celebrate the qualities that define our students: hard work, resilience, and a commitment to growth. These are the same qualities that will serve them well beyond the volleyball court - whether in academics, future careers, or as global citizens. We also thank our coaches - Mr T. and Mr. Thom - for working tirelessly with the students to build them into one of the best teams the school has ever produced. Thank you both for your guidance and enthusiasm! The team will take a well-earned rest this week before refocusing on the Provincial Championships. Go Gryphons! Grade 6 to 8 Girls' Basketball Team are putting in the reps and laying a strong foundation for success! Go Gryphons!
