Game of two halves at Open 2-4-2 Mixed Pairs finals
How often have we heard that cliché, a game of two halves? Well, the Premier Finals for the Open 2-4-2 Mixed Pairs on 29 December was indeed that! Pt Chevalier's pairing of Jenny Stockford and Alex Reed commanded their dominance over Takapuna's Garry Banks and Wendy Jensen from the beginning. The scoreboard was proof it was a one-sided match. But as we know and many of us have experienced in sport, the intensity of competing can change outcomes.
Premier winners: Garry Banks and Wendy Jensen, Takapuna
|
Premier runners up: Alex Reed and Jenny Stockford, Pt Chevalier
|
Plate winners: Lauren Mills and Andy Ellis, Composite

Davis Funerals.
On Tuesday, 11 January, 22 teams played in St Heliers' first Open Triples Tournament for 2022 - on a very hot and humid Auckland day. Some players thought the weather conditions were a bit uncomfortable, maybe not a “Goldilocks” day, but pretty close. Sponsored by Davis
Funerals, Kevin Kelleher was on hand to present the prizes. The players were very appreciative of the complimentary bowling cloths distributed by Kevin. Winners with 4 wins, 25 ends & 55 points Roger Johnston, Ling Qu & Graeme Lill.
