Nine Kiwi women are diagnosed with breast cancer every day. That’s 3,300 women a year and 25 men too. Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is working towards a vision of zero deaths from breast cancer. They provide support, life-saving education and help fund vital research into more effective treatments. Whether it's becoming a volunteer, holding an event, or donating here's how you can help.

An indecipherable, unfathomable element, which you never quite master. It depends on the wind, the moisture, the variety of grass, or how much Fred used the roller last week. Then too, the end areas where the bowlers have been walking are faster than the middle. Another imponderable is the pace of your old arm. Shouldn't have done all that gardening on Thursday.

Glen Eden Bowling Club — established 1922
Glen Eden Bowling Club has a host of activities planned to celebrate its centenary in April 2022. They will welcome members and the local community to participate in the celebrations and share their memories of lawn bowls in Glen Eden. Established in 1922 with a committee comprising Messers Croucher, Finch, Kirkpatrick, Porteous, and Waldron, the land for the club grounds was gifted by George Hoskings, a local schoolmaster, for the princely sum of ten shillings. Ironically the stamp duty on this transaction was thirty shillings, triple the purchase price! Over the years, the club has been a home away from home for local residents playing and promoting the sport of bowls. Glen Eden has lots of 'A' one activities and events planned to celebrate their 100-year milestone, including - 'A' two-day Open invitational on 16-17 April 2022, with $10,000 in prize money
- 'A' Mates’n’Bowls3Five afternoon of social bowls for past, present and future players on Saturday 7 May 2022
- 'A' Meet and Greet catch up with old friends on Friday 19 August 2022
- 'A' Dine and Dance evening on Saturday 20 August 2022.
