With every walk you must be both mentally and physically (completed hill training) prepared, this is particularly important for this challenge. PLEASE read your handbook again. Some tips –

Your backpack to include 2 litres of water and enough snacks for 5.0 hours of walking. There will be two non-stop 2.5 hours walking sections.

Shoes should be either trek boots or cross trainers with good tread as the downhills are steep and loose under foot, no runners or vans.

High illuminate head torch with spare batteries.

Light jacket as winds on the Mt. Coot-tha ridge line can be cooler at the time we are walking.

*** Rest – light pasta meal at 1500, sleep 1530-2200, light pasta meal 2200 – please remember food equals energy.

Finally – four important words that will guide us throughout the night – MATESHIP - COURAGE - SACRIFICE - ENDURANCE.
