Meet your constellation and floor groups! Your constellation group for the program is the group of NYSFers you'll attend STEM visits with, and will form your STEM family of like-minded enthusiasts! Your floor group for the program is the group of NYSFers you'll be living close by to during the program. You'll meet with your floor group to check in and debrief on your day! Our NYSF program app has launched!We invite you to access our program app (hosted in Whova). You can use the app to explore what we have in store for you in January (including STEM site visits, guest speakers and more!) and get to know other NYSFers. It can be accessed through a web browser on your computer or by downloading the Whova app on your mobile device. Complete the Student Travel Details formThe Student Travels Details form collects information about how you will be travelling to and from the 2024 NYSF Year 12 Program. This information will allow us to understand how and when you will be arriving and where required, coordinate shuttle buses to transport you from Brisbane and Canberra Airports, major train and bus stations to your accommodation. All students must complete this form regardless of your travel arrangements. For further information on travel, please refer to the 2024 NYSF Year 12 Program Student Handbook. Investigate and solve crime with ANU Biology Prepare to channel your inner forensic scientist with this site visit, hosted by ANU Biology. NYSFers will perform a DNA profiling experiment to demonstrate how DNA fingerprinting might be used to solve a crime. They’ll get the opportunity to perform restriction digests on DNA samples from four individuals and then search for similarities between them by running the DNA fragments on an electrophoresis gel. Hone your cyber security skills with UQ Cyber Enter the world of cyber security as you're invited to join the team at UQ Cyber in their Agile Security Operations Centre (ASOC). Here you'll work through a series of challenging activities, honing your talents in protecting computer systems and networks from malicious attacks. You'll also get the opportunity to hear from researchers, and explore study options in cyber security.
