This time it’s Domain C’s turn! Focus on: Domain C (Research Governance and Organisation) Domain C activities focus on developing your skills and understanding on the way research is organised and governed and relates to the knowledge of the standards, requirements and professional conduct that are needed for the effective management of research. Subdomains include professional conduct, research management and finance, funding and resources. Some students struggle to identify activities in Domain C, but there are a number of things to choose from:
When considering your needs for Domain C, consider what skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your research degree, and in your future career. Development needs in Domain C are likely to be different depending on the research you are undertaking, and the safety and ethical considerations for your discipline. Focus on Professionalism: Respectful Conduct Taking a professional approach to your development through CaRST will benefit you, and your fellow HDR students. These tips also align with professional expectations in most workplaces. Students are expected to respect the rights of others within the University community, treat others in a fair and non-discriminatory manner, and act with consideration for others. In relation to CaRST activities, this includes ensuring respectful dialogue when engaging with presenters, fellow attendees, and staff.
