Latest news, research and events from the Melbourne Disability Institute at the University of Melbourne

Welcome to 2022, from the Melbourne Disability Institute!

We are only just a few weeks into the year and there’s already so much happening - at MDI, at the University of Melbourne and amongst all our great community partners and friends. Keep reading below to learn more about how you can get involved in some great research, hear the latest about some of our programs and take advantage of a couple of great opportunities. This is just beginning. We have so much more planned - so please check back in for all the latest.

What’s happening at MDI

In the flurry of the end of the year, you may have missed hearing about eight new projects we have just agreed to fund through our seed funding program. We are delighted to have the chance to support some really exciting and important research. You can read more about the projects on our website.

At the end of the year we also announced the successful applicants for our Community Based Research Scheme (CBRS). This scheme provides grants to community based organisations to help capture outcomes, build evidence of impact, or lay the foundations for innovative programs or practice. This round we were able to support ten organisations in their important work. You can read more about the program on our website.

We will run both of these programs again the first half of 2022 - applications for CBRS will open in March. You can read more about CBRS below.

And finally we also have some fantastic presentations lined up for our community of practice, which will kick off again at the end of this month. If you are not already a member and want to learn more please drop us a line and learn how you can get involved.
