Presented by Hugh Kearns, this workshop describes the key habits that research and experience with thousands of students shows will make a difference to how quickly and easily you complete your HDR. Question Time: Handling questions at a conference presentation When: 30 August 2023, 10:00am - 11:30am No matter how well you prepare for your presentation, the part that freaks out most researchers is question time. Fortunately, you can prepare for question time. You can predict and get ready for most of the obvious questions. And you can learn strategies to deal with the others. Presented by Gary Edwards, this will look at a flexible model of negotiation that can be applied to a range of situations, from the short and quick "corridor" negotiation to more formal business negotiations. Guidance for Writing Animal Ethics Applications and Researcher Responsibilities When: 11 September 2023, 2:00pm - 3:00pm The aim of the session is to assist researchers compiling their applications and the style of answers that the AEC requires and thus help them to compile an application to be favourably considered, and more rapidly approved, by the AEC. Consent and Respectful Relationships new My Uni course To support a respectful and inclusive university environment, we encourage all students to complete the new MyUni course ‘Consent and Respectful Relationships’ to teach the core principles of respect and respectful relationships communication within relationships. This will help you understand the issues of consent, what constitutes sexual assault and sexual harrassment, and the support that is available. It contains discussion about relationships, dating, and sex. There will be mention of sexual harassment and sexual assault, including definitions and some examples of these behaviours. The first 100 students to complete the online module from 1 August will go into the draw to win 1 of 10 vouchers valued at $200 each. For more information.
