Hello everyone,
Can you believe it? Agile is 20 years old! These years have gone by so quickly since the signing of the Agile Manifesto back in 2001 in Snowbird, Utah. A group gathered to align on the 4 Agile Values and 12 Principles that have fundamentally transformed our industry.
As I reflect on this amazing journey and the recent conversation I had with my friend Lyssa Adkins on the significance of this milestone, I believe we need to pause and celebrate. We need to celebrate the impact Agile has made on our ways of working, on the mindset of how we deliver value, on how closely we collaborate with customers and get their feedback, and on modern leadership agility practices that have impacted all levels from managers to executives.
Most importantly, I’m reflecting on the global impact of Agile after recently speaking to my friend Aanu Gopald who’s bringing digital skills and Agile to the youth and women of Nigeria. My work with Sudan NextGen has taught me that Agile applies everywhere - especially when adopted by a country that never learned that Agile was for IT.
